Nobody here has a title. Reputation is the only thing that carries, so it should be written down.
In a structure with no ranks, no staff, and no promotions, one thing distinguishes people: what they actually did. The Ledger is a public record of that. Not a leaderboard, not a ranking, not a tier of insiders — a list of specific work and the specific person who did it.
It exists because credit here is individual. If your labor is yours, it should carry your name somewhere people can see it. In a movement with no titles, that is worth more than any title would be.

The Ledger records contribution only. It is not a rating, a ranking, or a warning list, and it will never be used as one. Entries are added, never scored.
It is not a hierarchy. Being listed does not give anyone authority over anyone, a vote on anything, or standing to speak for the work. There is nothing to be promoted into.
It is not exclusive. Enormous amounts of the most important work here will never appear on it — the person who handed a printout to a mother in a courthouse hallway is doing exactly what this exists for, and no one will ever know. That is fine. The Ledger catches what it can.
